WHY WATER?

Clean Water Changes Everything
Health

1.6 million children die before the age of 5 due to water-related diseases

Diseases from dirty water kills more people than any forms of violence, including war.

Money

The poor who typically need this cause, earn around $1-2 US Dollars per day yet they have to spend around $11 US Dollars to boil and clean the water.

Time

Women and girls may spend hours upon hours to walk and retrieve dirty water from far away sources.

Economy

"For each $1 invested, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates returns of $3-$34, depending on the region and technology."

UN World Water Development Report 3

Education

Girls are more likely to drop out of school to aid their mother in getting water.

Many girls prioritize getting water more than education.

Women Empowerment

Women are the 'water managers' of the family.

Girls are more likely to drop out of school to aid their mother in getting water.

Women can spend time working rather than collecting water.
